Overview:

This position reports to the Bakken Production Superintendent. The primary responsibility will be the operation and maintenance of the New Town production area for the Bakken Asset Team, including producing wells and associated facilities. Position includes daily production optimization, and management of all facilities and new installations in a safe, clean and responsible manner. Direct reports include field operators and roustabouts, which are a mix of company and contract employees. Position will work with Production Superintendent, Production Engineers, and other Production Supervisors to plan and implement well remedial activities, and with Construction & Maintenance Supervisor, whose team designs and installs new facilities and plans and implements appropriate maintenance activities on existing facilities. A very high value on safety culture and performance in order to ensure sustainable strong HES performance is a top priority. Excellent teamwork and communication skills will continue to drive the operation’s future success.



Responsibilities:
  • Drive continued improvements in Safety Culture and ensure safe and environmentally responsible work practices by clearly communicating and living HES values, proactively managing contract labor force, ensuring timely completion of and participating in field audits and inspections. Be a proactive participant and leader in the Company BBS, GPS assessments and auditing programs, and ensure timely investigation and effective corrective actions are implemented on incidents/near misses to prevent recurrence. Ensure that all Company and contract employees remain in compliance with safety and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Lead, supervise, and provide direction for all employees and contractors working within the area of responsibility. Manage contractor useage to achieve safe and cost-effective results.
  • Strive to produce all wells at optimum rates. Manage operating expenses for the area. Seek new and innovative production enhancement opportunities. Once changes are identified, quickly implement them.
  • Ensure operating and regulatory compliance procedures are followed (and lead development of new procedures as required) by Company and contract personnel in order to maximize the value and efficiency of existing operation.
  • Work closely with Construction and Maintenance personnel to plan work scope and timing of new facilities and maintenance of existing infrastructure (facilities & pipelines). Goal is to ensure safe, clean responsible overall operations to support the successful business model.
  • Plan and coordinate future operational events. Communicate the plans and results to team members and management.
  • Work closely with engineers and field operators to frequently review production. Participate in periodic detailed production review meetings with operating personnel. Positively interact with office and field personnel in a manner that creates an atmosphere of creativity, cooperation, and attention to the safety of all personnel, the environment and company assets.
  • Maintain good working relationships to help ensure that Marathon lives its values with key stakeholders, including contract companies, regulatory agencies and members of the public.


Qualifications:

Degree: Not Required
Computer Proficiencies: Microsoft Office products, SAP, Management of Change system, COGZ, TOW
Work Experience: Experience in production operations, safety performance management and an understanding of oil & gas wells is required. Experience supervising or coordinating company employees and managing contractors is a plus.
